Beautiful Disaster

By Gina Di Tullio

Verse

Riding with the top down. feeling so free.

They found themselves a home, tucked back in the trees.

Friends camping out, just playin’ her drums by the fire.

Sitting on the rock, wind blowing her hair,

She questions her life and desires.

Sunshine summers and the bitter cold

She held on tight to see what would unfold.

Chorus

Running for days, she found herself far away,

Trying to keep from feeling.

Drum beats matching the rhythm of her heart

Through the disaster comes the healing.

Verse

Money gets tight and their words too loud.

The house becomes cold, and the truth is told.

A blanket of snow mutes the sound.

Without the sunshine it was hard to stay warm.

She had to let go to keep them from harm.

Chorus

Running for days, she found herself far away,

Trying to keep on breathing.

She’s picking through the pieces of her - scattered dreams

Through the chaos comes her healing.

Bridge

This is her life – and it’s a beautiful disaster.

Sometimes she won’t know where the road will go.

The end of this story’s the beginning of her next one.

From ashes, I know she will grow.

Chorus

Running for days, she found herself far away,

Miles and miles from the ruin.

Drum beats matching the rhythm of her heart,

From her old life comes a new one.

From the old life comes a new one.
